Lizbeth Congiusti

Lizbeth is a Level II Sommelier with the International Sommelier Guild, and a Certified Specialist of Wine. She created her business The Sassy Sommelier in 2007, presenting wine education programs at local community colleges to enhance students’ understanding of wines and tasting etiquette; teaching them the steps and subtleties of evaluating wine like a professional.

As a Wine Ambassador with the Boisset Collection, Lizbeth conducts presentations in private homes and at large scale events to help guests understand the nuances of wine tasting and pairing wines with food.

The author of Sip, Swirl, Savor: A Wine Tasting Guide and Journal, Lizbeth’s passion is sharing her extensive knowledge to help others more fully enjoy wine, and to become more comfortable making their wine selections.

As Director of Alcoholic Beverage Programs for United Airlines for almost 20 years (1985—2003), Lizbeth was responsible for the selection and distribution of all alcoholic beverages for the carrier worldwide. She reviewed over 1,000 wines annually and managed product distribution for both Domestic and International Catering locations, in addition to creating educational programs for United flight attendants.
