8th C-CAP Harvest Moon Celebrating 30 Years of C-CAP AZ

The 8th Annual Harvest Moon Feast Fundraiser to benefit C-CAP Arizona (& the 9,000 students in Arizona who receive the culinary, job, and life skills training the 30-year-old nonprofit provides) will be here before we know it! Join top chefs under the big golden Moon at the 8th Harvest Moon Feast at Tarbell's from 5:30-9pm on Sunday, October 9, 2022. Chef Mark Tarbell will be hosting and playing music with Nate Nathan and the MacDaddy-Os, students will be cooking with chef mentors, and Chef Brother Luck will be signing his latest book, "No Lucks Given," hot off the presses!

Join the Phoenix Chapter of Les Dames d'Escoffier for May "Talks with Desert Dames" an informative chocolate tasting with Zak's Chocolate.

This is a Virtual Online Educational Event that features a chocolate tasting and informative discourse with renowned chocolatiers Jim and Maureen Elitzak from Zak's Chocolate.

Zak's Chocolate, based in Scottsdale, is an award-winning small-batch craft chocolate maker and an artisan chocolate shop. They are one of a small number of chocolate shops that makes 100% of their own chocolate directly from the bean, using only ethically sourced cocoa beans. Zak’s was just listed in “Food & Wine: The Best Chocolate in America".

Please order boxes through Eventbrite, pickup will be confirmed by email on May 12th after fresh chocolates are delivery to various Sweet Republic locations.

3 days prior to the event you will be sent the link to join via Zoom.

Product for attendees in the Phoenix Metropolitan area will be delivered to Dame Helen Yung’s “Sweet Republic” ice cream stores for pick-up. For our out-of-town attendees, arrangements will be made to ship the product to you. You will be emailed when the freshly made chocolates are ready to be picked up.

This event is part of LDEI International's "Table Talk' series involving programs from all chapters during the month of March - to celebrate women and a women's organization.

  • Dame Candy Lesher will talk about and cook Tepary Beans.

  • Dame Danielle Leoni will amaze with Shrimp Farming in the Desert.

  • Dame Jill Smith will speak about C-CAP and demo their Winning Salad.

  • Dame Patty Emmert on Commercial Farming in the Desert at Duncan Family Farms.

  • Dame Kim Haasarud our cocktail guru will give a Cocktail Demonstration.

  • Dame Tamara Stanger will talk about Foraging the Desert for Cholla Buds, how to identify, dry and cook.

  • Dame Ann Rodarte Colleary will show how her School Desert Garden Project grows.

Proceeds raised are distributed throughout our local community in the form of culinary scholarships and financial support to non-profit food related organizations.
